Yes- on many occasions but at the end of the day I know that what goes around comes around. It may not be at that time or from the person I helped but...it'll come around in a positive way on a different day when I least expect it.

I did that yesterday with horrible results.
I spent 1/2 the day cooking two different meals, to feed my bf(still think he is) his daughter, her friend, myself and my kid.
When I finally got up to his house to deliver the food, I said "oh, I should have told you to put the water on, to cook the spaghetti" he was pissed.
He automatically assumed that I cooked the spaghetti at home and brought it up with me. He yelled an obscenity, and I said I was going home.
He saw me today and completely ignored me.
The good thing was My daughter and I ate Spaghetti and meatballs twice since then, and the stew that I made went to my parents house, that way my family doesn;'t have to cook for 2 days.
But yeah, not even a thanks for the effort or anything.
Shouldn't be surprised, it happens to me all the time.
I have a tattoo on my forehead that reads: WELCOME

I have thought that, but then I think that I am not doing it to get a reaction from them. I am doing it because it is a nice thing to do.

Many times......and 99% of the time they prove me wrong by calling and saying something or thanking me. So, usually it's worth it.

Nope.
Because even if they don't care (or more often, don't know), I do.
And I think you're awesome all the time, and doubly awesome when you're doing something nice!

Yeah, like you spend all day thinking about them and what you can do for them and you're being completely unselfish and they totally take you for granted! I hate everybody.

If you can't do something nice for someone without recognition or praise, then what was your motive in the first place?
