Is it just the foundation, or you skin affecting EVERY foundation?
Make sure to exfoliate, then put on lotion. You might need that extra step just to really make sure you're getting all that dry skin so the makeup doesn't look flaky in spots.

I do not believe that any situation in the real world ever need be something or nothing. Since there is one nothing - a con-- and infinite somethings, the choice is not between something or nothing but rather something and some other thing. Only a philosopher with no life need contemplate nothingness ... or an author who wants to make a dishonest dollar scamming the public into accepting such an hypothesis. Nothing is the outcome of a null hypothesis in which the hypothesizer paints himself into a corner through specious thinking. So, to conclude with an answer to your premise. the choice is to life or die for something -- be it one thing or another. Nothing is the kingdom of the dead where logic and cognition are neither necessary or possible (I think ...). I cannot say for certain. I have been various degrees of alive, but never yet dead. I am not looking forward to the latter since no one of record or import has ever returned to validate death as an experience. Dying is an experience. I have witnessed it many times but it is on this side of the line. Life is choice. For those who choose anti-social, they validate their choices with the outcomes which, in the end, are often deleterious to healthy life. That was fun!

I would recommend using a "primer" prior to applying your make-up. The best one I have found is by Clarins. If you use the primer first, you can use pretty much any make-up, as the primer lays down a smooth surface for the make-up to latch onto...it also helps fill in fine lines, so everything looks a bit more refined.
Of course the mousse make-up may just not be right for you no matter what you do and if it is gel-based, mixing it with water will just turn it into a gooey mess.

I have that same problem, I use the maybelline dream matte mousse but I have really dry skin so it makes my skin look flakey. So what I do is get this moisturizing toner by nivea, pink bottle, and I apply this first and put on the foundation while my face is still wet with the moisturizer. Works for me.

Personally, I think you might want to wait a while if your skin is dry because it might worsen the condition. Try using some skin cream specifically made to target dry skin. Then when your skin starts to get better then the foundation will look better on your skin. But you shouldn't put foundation on dry skin. But if you really want to wear the foundation, look for a different brand. Good luck.!

Maybe you need to change foundations to something specifically designed for dry skin. Do use a moisturizer first, and apply the moisturizer when your skin is still damp.

Throw it away. Use a good facial moisturizer in the AM and PM before bed, and be sure that your moisturizer has spf protection. Clearly, that foundation isnt working out, so keep interviewing.
Good luck!

i think u should change foundation. there are specific foundations that are designed to look good on dry skin and doesn't show the flaking but just regular ones won't.
