I have 2 of them, family could not live without them now, so yes, Tivo is worth it. Tivo's have a few features only found on Tivo brand DVRs, but you might get cheaper DVR and/or service from your cable or satellite provider.

Tivo automatically finds and digitally records all of your favorite shows, every time they're on. Every episode of your favorite series. Every movie. Whatever you choose. All while you're out living life. Plus, only TiVo lets you watch your favorite shows any time, anywhere. Tivo works really well and does everything it says it does. It is definitely worth every penny. I am truly proud of myself for buying it.
