My science fair experiment is a bit complicated (Does magnetic force pass through ionic and molecular solutions...meaning salt and sugar water). But, other then the amount of salt and sugar I can't figure out what to measure and how to measure it...is there anything I can measure other then the amount of sugar/salt?

You can also measure the distance that the magnetic field will attract the metal (use iron) to the magnet. Also (if you can afford it) use a guasinometer (I hope that is how it is spelled) to measure the strength of the magnetic field. You could try to this test at different temperatures as well. Hope this helps.
