i love claires and i love big hooped earrings or the stars.do you think its appropiate to wear them to a middle school?do you think some of those freaks would dare to pull on them and i dont even know them?things like that have happened to me
im wearing dangling hooped earings where only my thumb can go through no teacher has told me anything

Alot of girls in Middle school wear them beacsue they think they will look older. mean while now days alot of people know that you are young if you are wearing those earrings . onces you get to highschool youll pretty nuch hate em . and laugh at it . Stick with dangly earrings that shine bright or that have tiny multiple hoops . nothing big when you wear big hoops it makes you looks poor and cheap/ But its a different storey when your in your 20;s and going to aflashy bar thats when those are very much acceptibale. Personally the only time i thinkthat someone can REALLY pull of the "good" look of hoop earrings is when your much older. not 30 or 40 ahaha. I went through that faze too. And in Middle school.you have a higher chance of them getting accientally or perpously ripped out by immtaure little boys.

It's ok to wear big hooped earrings in middle school. People wear them ALL the time in middle school. I started wearing the medium sized stars and nobody pulled on them or said anything about them. But if you're going to be worried about what people are going to do/say then maybe you should wait a bit more. But feel free to wear them. Only an idiot would come up to you and pull on your earrings for no reason. If they do, feel free to kick their a**. Rock your big hooped earrings.!!

My daughter is in middle school, and I would prefer she would be much older before wearing them. She can wear petite dangles but nothing else.
In my opinion (here goes the Momspeak, try not to tune out) I don't think they look good, and they are just not safe to wear. If they get caught on something (A crowded hall, hat, etc- not to mention someone tugging them or sports) your ear could be ripped through. Not pretty.

I just need to put my .02 here...
I do not understand why people see the EARRINGS as trashy...
so if I have on large hoops with a turtleneck and jeans with my hair in a ponytail, I look trashy? That's a silly generalization if you ask me...
I think the image of trashy with large hoops earrings goes along with the trashy chick who is wearing go-go boots and a tight mini dress while chewing gum with her mouth wide open as she applies more lipstick and checks her teased hair in the mirror!
I have always worn hoop earrings of various sizes and never have I looked trashy or told that I look trashy. In fact I look rather professional with my hoops as I wear them everyday to work! So does my mom and my sis and my aunts.
Now if a middle school girl should wear them? Sure just not too large... I personally do not like the way very large earrings look on younger girls... maybe an inch in diameter is a nice size.
And as a lifetime wearer of hoop earrings, I have never had anyone pull on them or have them get caught on anything. I wear mine in the shower and to bed regularly with no problem (14K gold).
And FYI- I am in NYC too and hoops are not instantly ghetto!! Have you not seen Carrie on Sex and the City rockin her hoops? As well as various other celebs?
