Simple Buddy....
Just catch the Bus C51 or T51 from Sholinganallur Bus stop.
Get down at the last stop its the East Tambaram Bus stop.
From there go to tambaram station which is very much nearer to Bus stop.(Ask any one they will guide you). Get ticket to Tirusulam Station and take a train which goes to Beach. From Tambaram Trisulam is 5th station. (Tambaram,Tambaram Sanatorium,Chrompet,Pallavaram,Tirusulam)
From Station the Airport is walkable distance.
To be on safer side start early. Approx the journey time will be around 1.5 to 2 hrs.

Instead of travelling by bus better choose Call Taxi, cuz if u go by bus to airport noone is not sure when the bus will reach the destination due to heavy traffic in Chennai. Definitely u will not reach at time. There is no train from Sholanganallur to Domestic Airport

Bus and train is a good and economical option....... but u know what... u will be wasting a lot of time and energy. To get off and get in... into various buses is just a waste of time.
Best would be a auto or call taxi. And by the way... u dont have to worry abt the way or getting off track when u travel by these.
About the time taken to reach.... got no clue.... but i would advise if u have a flight to be on, better be there atleast an hour earlier.
Guess i couldnt help a lot..... : )

From Shalanganallur, I do not know whether any direct bus is available to the Airport. From the Central Railway Station, the airport is well connected by bus and EMU service. If you take the EMU service, you can get down at Trishulam Station.

Take a bus to Madhya kailash from Sholinganallur. Then take a bus to Tambaram.Get down at Tirusoolam which is the airport.
It will take about 90 Mts to 2 Hrs entirely by bus.
If you take an auto to Maghya Kailash or even Gandhi Mandapam a few furlongs away you can board 21G or any other bus to Tambaram/Pallavaram.

No train from sholinganallur. Get an auto or bus. If you are opting for auto, it will be charged around 100-150 and it will take around 45 mins. If by bus, you have to change atleast 2 buses, and it will take around 2-2.30 hours. Better get a call taxi. Safe and easy.
