Does anyone else feel as frustrated with their online service as I am.

It will not let you amend standing orders online. You have to cancel one and then set up a new one.

However, if there is already another standing ording going into that account, you cannot set up a new one.

It will not let you transfer between accounts, nor pay out, more than £10,000 in any one day, irrespective of the balance of your accounts

Sorry to hear that you are having such problems. I am not sure about the standing order bit, but I can tell you that everyone (even companies) have a pay out limit per day, just to stop any fraudulent transactions happening. However, if you contact your bank you can have this limit set to whatever limit you choose, providing the funds are there to justify that.

Someone up the post said it could be a scam, thiscould be true. Donot enter any other information if its asks you to but either ring your local branch or the telephone banking number 08456 012288. Whenever I am dealing with secure transactions I always make sure that I enter the web address from new each time and not use the address that comes up from cookies. NEVER EVER follow any links to the sign in pages as this is how scams work by making you think you are following the right steps. If I was you I would ring the phone banking and ask them to send out a new pin for online banking and also ask them to disable the online banking until you call back. It could just be a blip on the system but it is better to be safe than sorry!

I guess Nat West has suffered more than most from 'Phishing' attacks against it's customers ... hence the restrictions...

Last time I checked, Barclays was less restrictive .. but now I get about twice as many fake 'Check your Account' emails 'from' Barclays ..

I suggest you look at the less well known Banks (the Phishers haven't focused on yet)

The standing order business on Nat West is very very frustrating. Pointless giving you the option really - I mean is it so unheard of to want to amend a standing order?
Incidentally, I am no longer a customer because they are a bunch of blood sucking rip-off merchants.
