I have an apple video/photo/music ipod 30 GB black 5 generation. I got it on Christmas of 2005. I like it a lot. The space on it is amazing. It is half the space of an ordinary laptop (Portable Computer). So far I have 2500 songs on it 37 music videos average of 4 minutes and 1000 photos exactly and guess what? I have 23 more GB left. It actually comes with 27 GB free space the programs to make it work take up 3 GB's. Though I do not like the fact that once you put songs/videos/movies/photos on you cannot take them out your ipod and put them on the computer you can only delete them permanently. There is a way to get every thing off but you will have to pay and or take chances to download programs off of the Internet to remove your files. There is a way to take songs off without downloading but you don't know what you are taking off because the files show up on the computer as a1 a2 a3 and so on also they aren't in order. I also do not like how itunes functions sometimes because I was once downloading a movie that I paid 10.00 for and the itunes store froze up on me. When I first got my ipod I was upset because it would not come on so I called apple and they were extremely rude. All I had to do was hold down the menu and circle keys to restart my ipod and they mad me use my 1 free technical support call to find that info out. They should have told me that at the beginning of the call. They are all about making money. Also every technical support calls cost 52.00 I think, well that was the price in 05. But besides those few flaws everything else is nice. If you are going to buy an ipod buy it from apple so you can get free engraving on it. I have my name on mines and you can get up to 54 characters on 2 lines. If you have a video ipod you can get free videos from google. If you are going to buy accessories for your ipod then do not buy it from apple of Wal-Mart of places like that try local super dollar stores or a store called 5 n below. Everything there is cheap and is just as good as the expensive stuff. Sometimes ipods don’t come with chargers so you can go to a store and buy an off brand wall mount charger. Well I hope I was able to help feel free to email me if you have any more questions.

I have the 80 gig video and I don't like it at all. I think Apple's technical support is horrendous. Non-existant would be a better word for it. Thank god I bought the best buy extended warranty service, because without it you have literally NOTHING for support. I jhave found Itunes and the Ipod to be bug prone. They over look songs, don;t read songs, etc. I would never purchase another Apple product after this expereince. Wait for Zune to release a full product line, or use a company like Creative.

I have a video ipod. There used be a lot of places online to get music/videos/tv shows etc that you could play on your ipod. lately it seems those sites are becoming harder to find. I have never paid to put anything on my ipod. You can get alot of good skins etc from ebay. There are so many accessories it's great from car adapters to home stereo speakers. I would recommend getting one if you would use it on a reg basis.

I have had mine almost a year and the screen froze on me once. I searched thier site for solutions and it was fixed with the press of 2 buttons. It has never not read a song for me.

I have an old, 4 gig ipod mini. My friend got a nano for christmas, and made fun of it for its size, but to be honest, I prefer it over the nano. It doesn't feel like it's about to snap in two when you hold it. Anyway, I love my iPod and it's been through a lot with me( i.e. drops, scratches, etc.) but still works like a charm!!! IPODS RULE!!! I hope I helped you out! GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS! =)

I have an ipod, but I don't use it much. Instead, I recomend a PSP, it's cheaper (depending on how much songs you're putting in to it), and it holds music, video, photo, you can watch movies on it and play games with it, and you can browse the internet. How much are you going to store in it? I got a 1 gigabyte memory stick, but I suggest two gig. Get the PSP bundle entertainment pack, the Media Manager with the USB cable (USB cable is need to transfer music, videos, etc.) and, if you want, a 2 gig memory stick. The PSP entertain pack includes one psp, one battery pack, one 1gig memory stick, one game (ATV Off road Fury), and one movie (Lords of DogTown, rated PG-13). Compared to the ipod, the PSP PWNS!!! >_<

That's a lot for me!
