what you think about arabs?

i'm an arab muslim and i know what media talkes about us and what kind of opinions the world have.
Does every body belevies that?
does every body knows and wached all the things that the media can not show the killing the suffering. why do i have to bring my american friends to my house to show them what kind of people we are.
whats the differnce between us and all other people.

People are people no matter where you go.Many ignorant ones like to label you as crazy or stupid.This may or may not be true about you.I can't tell you how many times I've heard other Americans say lets just nuke all of them,or put them in camps,and on your side I'm sure you have Muslims,who feel the same way about Americans.What we as humans must realize is that people who think this way are the REAL problem in this world.In this day in age with the weapons we have,this type of thinking is going to eventually erase our existence unless A.we stop it or B.god does.These ignorant stubborn people need to be stopped,they are a plague on humanity,& they can be.It's possible .Just keep in mind they are ignorant & stubborn,they may have WMD,but they don't have the ability to think outside of the box,so to speak.

People are stupid in general, and harbor long grudges against groups of people when one person from that group does something bad or something that most people perceive to be bad.

But there are many people that sympathize with the general Muslim population and wishes no ill will toward anyone.

Overall, because people are people, you are stuck with tons of stupid people roaming around looking to pick a fight or kill you outright when its not your fault at all for anything. The primary problem is that Osama bin Laden is still out there and nobody has been able to capture or kill him yet. With him still free, people will still hate Muslims just because Osama bin Laden is (or claims to be).

As for the Saddam hanging, you have to remember two things: (1) media coverage differs from country to country - the US has one of the most heavily edited media coverages in the world - whereas if I pick up a video feed from almost anywhere else in the world, you can see the real pain and suffering that is going on worldwide all the time.
(2) People want to see these 3 videos (two from the hanging, and the one showing him being laid out just before burial) to make sure that Saddam is actually dead. They do NOT trust the US at all. Without those videos being leaked, people would have accused the US of faking Saddam's execution, and people would continue to live in fear that Saddam was still alive somewhere in the world. He has caused so much harm and suffering to so many people and fueled their hatred and fear for so long they need the reassurance that he is truly dead.

I don't believe that Osama Bin Laden represents all of you but what he does do for most americans is give them the wrong impression of Arab muslims. It is just like when most Arab muslims see President Bush well most arabs think that all american people think like he does. Well I have to say I don't, I have my own mind and I look watch and talk to most of the muslims online and I have to say some of you are some really nice people once you get to know you.

I have plenty of arab muslim friends online and we have a nice time conversating and talking about all things of life, we never disrespect each other and we talk about each others religions which by the way I am Christian, and they respect me for who I am. But most of all we respect each other and that is what is important.

I understand that the media plays a big role in what people see and hear about muslims and personally it is wrong, I am an African Amercan woman and I have lived in this country for years and one thing I do know is that most media programs even depect us a thieves and murders as well as gangsters and drug dealers but they never go and see what we are really like unless it is someone with a lot of money and power and that is when they start looking around.

I want to say I don't hate muslims I do respect them all and no matter if one person makes you all look bad believe me I am not judging you because of him. In my religion it is not my place to judge or criticize other people.

Arabs are human beings just like everyone else. I have friends who are Arab Muslims and they are some of the best people I know. Sometimes people tend to stereotype but that comes out of fear and ignorance. The Arabs I know want the exact same things for their families we all do.
