Wouldn't it have been great if they had gone to Paris? Nip over on the ferry to gay paris for a long weekend, watch some sport. A few nights out in the capital, hop on a ferry, and come back with some duty free. And, the country did not have to pay a penny.

No white elephants, no security problems, and no mess to clear up after just 1 month of festivities. What do you think?

Yep absolutely agree, Londons transport system cant cope as it is, how its going to handle all the extra people for however long it'll drag on for. We'll just end up looking a laughing stock at the hands of the worlds media, and wont they hammer us for it, especially the bitter frogs.

Besides who wants to go and watch us fail miserably like we always do, let the garlic munchers have it.

I have already arranged to be out of the country for the 3 months that cover the whole tedious piece of nonsense.

The Olympics are boring and pretentious. I do not want to hear about them, read about them or be associated to them. Most of all...I do not want to pay for them.

I would rather pay the defence costs of a pimp than donate a single penny to this disreputable drug fest.

Please give it to the French...they are sooooooo much better than us at this sort of thing!

I dont think London will be able to cope with it - I mean try getting on the tube in peak hour let alone to get to an olympic sporting event!

I agree, but Paris isn't one of the top three candidates to host the Olymipics in 08.

People will get more excited the nearer it gets.

Mind you, the Millenium Dome and Wembley Stadium experiences makes me think we'll probably be holding them in France, anyway
