You can take one now, the best time being first thing when you wake up. Your urine will be more concentrated when you first wake up and any trace of hormone is better detected with that void. Best of luck!

The best time to take a pregnancy test is the first day of your missed period. Some tests show results even sooner. The best time of day to take a test is first thing in the morning when your urine is concentrated and therefore even the least amount of HCG hormone will be detected on the test.

At least a week after you miss your period. My OB sais that 80% of all pregnancies ends up as a miscarriages in the begining, around the time you are supposed to get your period of couple days later {you won't see the different between period and miscarriage at this point}, so he recomends to do the pregnancy test at leas a week after you missed it, then you won't be disappointed if something happens.

You can take the test as soon as a few days before you miss your period (for those who can't wait to get pregnant) and any day after the first day of a missed period for everyone else.

Many HPTs can detect smaller amounts of HCG than others. I think since you missed your December cycle you sould be able to test now. Of course first morning urine is best but I think you could test now. Check out this site for which tests are the most sensative and tons more info on HPTs.

Most test will show a good result after 4-6 weeks. Read the different brands to see what they say - some can tell earlier than others. If it says negative try again in a couple weeks because it could be a false negative.
