Normally, water freezes at 0 degrees Celsius (32°F, 273 K). But very clean water can stay liquid at much lower temperatures. That process is called supercooling and allows water to stay liquid at temperatures down to â42°C (â43.6°F, 231 K). The melting point of water, however, is at 0°C (32°F, 273 K) in both cases!
