Sigh. It seemed inevitable that the Bushies would deliberately misinterpet the intentions of the Democratic Congress, but I guess I was hoping for a miracle...
The funds are there and will be there for the troops already in Iraq. No more blank checks to add troops without some damn good justification is what is being talked about. When the Dems withheld funding in Vietnam they forced the President to end the war and bring the troops home. This Congress isn't even talking yet about taking that drastic a measure, for now they are concerned with this new troop surge that Bush is pushing. To withhold the funds that would be required for this venture is exactly what they should be doing, at least until he justifies exactly how a troop surge is going to change anything but adding more casualities to the list. I wish the Bushies would try listening instead of flaming, making assumptions, and deliberately twisting the Democrats intentions for maximum effect. How novel would that be for a change?

To the person who asked why Ted Kennedy is a murderer - do a search for "Ted Kennedy" and "Chappaquiddick". He let a girl drown in the 60s after he drunkenly plunged his car into the water. Didn't try to get her any help. That ALONE should keep ANYONE from calling him a hero.
Ask Mary Jo's family what a "hero" Ted is.

The republicans will spin it to say "they are cutting off supplies to the troops" when the truth is the only funding that will be cut is new funding for Bush surge 2 into Iraq that will put troops back into house-to-house combat which is dreaded by military commanders.
