I always mix a bag of grainy cereal (like cheerios, rice crispies, nothing too sugary) with the hamster food i get from the pet store. they love the treat and it makes the food last twice as long. They can also eat lettuce, veggies, fruits, etc. The pet store also has lots of treats for hamsters too.

Okay, so you can go to the pet store, and buy hamster food.
if you can't get to the store you can feed them a lot of things.
1. Seeds, or bird seeds
2. Peanuts
3. Strawberry, Carrot, Lettuse (when feeding a hamster lettuse, don't give a lot!!), Brocolli (same with the brocolli.), and Califlower.

You can feed hamsters many different things. Don't give them candy, or peanut butter. My friends daughter did that...
Didn't work out so well.
Good luck!

Um did you just get one? Well i had one and we feed them carrots, lettuce, guine pig food i think it was or maybe it was hamster food. I have had 2 hamsters and a lot of guine pigs. Oh my first one died because of wet tail. I dont know if yours will get it but they told me after he died that you have to put this stuff in there water. I would go to a pet store and see what its called. Good Luck with your hamster. Hope i helped you and didnt waste your time. LOL

Commercial Hampster Diet should be offered at all times along with fresh water. They are rodents and can eat almost anything. Stay away from junk food and refined sugars (i.e no cheese doodles or cookies) Do NOT give them lettuce, avacados, chocolate, or anything else with caffene. Always try 1 thing at a time and in moderation. If you change ANY pet's diet drastically or give them too much of a new thing they can get sick. Be especially careful of your Hampster's stool (feces) to make sure it does not get watery or bloody. Day 1-3 try carrots, then stop carrots and day 4-6 try small piece of apple. Do not give too much fruit as they will get sick. Veggies are hard to give too much of once they are accustomed to it. Hope this helps!

Carrots are ok and they make little snacks that you can buy at the store.. Don't give it lettuce!!! Just do a google search on hamsters and there are lots of sites that will tell you.

buy a hamster food from a petstore, or target sells animal planet brand that is real good and reasonable priced. they also like veggies and fruits, fresh, and a spoon of yogurt on a small dish, cheerios, dry spaghetti, carrots, celery etc.

At my job we feed hamsters their main diet and mix in blocks made for mice/gerbils. Everyday we also provide them with carrots and everyother day carrots and parsley. You can also feed them banana chips.
