I know it's a cultural thing but bothof these events seem cruel, dangerous and hardly entertaining.

Many countries, especially European ones, have a long history of torturing animals (and ppl) for entertainment purposes. If you read up, you'll be disgusted.
Bullfighting is just one of these "traditions" that has managed to survive.
I find it pointless and hard to watch, and my family is from Spain so I know about the cultural part....but, still doesn't do it for me.

Yes, I agree, and I am half Spanish (and proud of it too!) In fact, a while ago, there was a running of the bulls, but the gates wouldn't open, several people got crushed to death by PEOPLE cscrambling to climb the gate. My father (who is Spanish) went to one, I dont think I would want to go if I had the chance, though
