So this one time I was in Barnes and Noble in line and this little ten year old was in front of me with her mom. She had a high heels, and had a designer purse and a RAZR freaking cell phone. Of course, then she was in line to buy a Winnie the Pooh calendar. Is this what our society has come to?

Isn't it horrid?? I know 3 seven year olds that got cell phones for Christmas! Don't they need jobs and someone to phone to have one? WTF? I think it is absurd, unless there is like a safety or medical reason. I told my kid she can get one when she is 14 and has a 1 - 2 hour commute to school. Society is so f-d up!!

My daughter has had a cell phone since she was 12. I got her one so she can call me when she is walking home alone we talk until she gets in the house..Plus any time she may need me she is not spoiled..She is 15 now and she never went over her minutes

It's amazing how much more common it is to see how many more spoiled brats there are now that parents have started caring more frequently about well they're doing with their careers than how good of a job they're doing raising thier children. Women just had to demand the right to work instead of staying home and raising the children and now we're seeing the result of that; they are practically completely incapable of disciplining their children because they spend more time at work than at home.

The only reason i see why that is, maybe because of family contracts that allow them to use what us adults go for. A little of it may be because their parents don't know any other way to spoil their child.

It's pretty bad in a sense. I didn't have a cell phone until I was in my forties, but OTOH, I had TV when others didn't before me. I remember people saying that.
