All men are raised by women. Only the ones who have a very dominate mother will be the wimp you talk about.
All men are wimps at some level with women for this very reason. Most do not let it influence how they live their lives. They do their best to understand woman and let it go at that.
The ones who beat and control their women fear that loss of control so take it out on them. They are to be the most pitied because this one issue controls their whole life and any woman that is with them will pay for it.

Well if you are talking in the sexual sense of being a domme then men are supposed to be wimpy or submissive.
Why it turns some on I have no idea.

A "dominatrix" is still for the most part just a woman who is trying to raise the level of Her self esteem via pseudo sexual means. Some do it for money some do it for Their own perverted pleasure, and some have even been known to become involved in the whole tawdry affair at the insistence of a man. Makes You wonder just who really is the dominant one in that sort of relationship, doesn't it? Why are so many women kept under the domination of men? I would like to see the statistics on that, wouldn't You?

its not a wimp. they are turned on by being the bottoms in a relationship. there's nothing wrong with it.
I don't think there is a universal reason to why bottoms bottom or why tops top.
