they demand that Pres Bush gets their approval for him to fight this war on terror. Pres Bush is the Commander in Chief of the military. He was elected president and it is his war to fight.
Where does Ted Kennedy get off saying that Congress must be consulted first? They have no authority to even ask this.
I thought liberals want to defend the Constitution.

Why do so many conservatives think liberals are the enemy of American ideals?
We don't think that conservatives are the enemy of America, so what's with all the hate?

I hope that every American is for the Constitution. When we destroy the fondations of the liberty that was fought for, we all lose. This is not a Liberal , Conservative issue, this is an American issue and if you say trample and ignore the rights that so may brilliant minds came up with and so many millions have died for, then you have no idea what the words mean and why they exist today. The Constution grants the Citizen certain unalienable rights that are a garuntee. Privacy, freedom to speach, print whatever one wishes, freedom from undue taxation, freedom to a speedy and swift trial by a jury of peers, and a judge has to sign and then issue a warrant of arrest before any can be held. Held does not mean waterboarded, or driven insane, or mentally tortured. Wich this President has condoned, Authorized and allows to occur.

Congress authorized a war with the government of Saddam Hussein based on the false premises of him having WMD and ties to AlQuaeda. There is no longer a valid reason for us to be involved in a Religious Civil War.
You should read the Constitution; it gives Congress the authority to declare war and the duty to approve the budget.

If Bush wants to continue to have "his" war funded he'd better start getting approval from Congress. Democrats are not the only ones that would like a little input on the conduct of "his" war, but there are members of his own party that would like to be consulted more often.

The constitution gives the congress, not the president, the sole authority to declare war. It also gives the congress, not the president, the ability to create the budgets.
Books are good, try reading.

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeldt etc. all convinced congress there were WMD in Iraq which was later proven wrong after congress gave them the go ahead under false information. It was all laid out, I can't understand how you forgot that part. The answer above stating false premise is right on. Bravo, George, Dick and Rummy, you got your way. Oh, you say you really believed there was WMD but history has already proven you wrong. And congress for falling for it.
