My sister says...?

My sister says I can sing REALLY good, but I am not sure. She says I have a unique voice and I can get somewhere with it, but yet she is only eleven. I am thirteen. I record myself singing, and I think I sound really good, but not good enough. You know? I also write a lot, and I want to publsih my book...and I also act on the side. I have been in one movie with Sissy Spaceck (from the old movie Carrie) but my scene got cut. Everybody says I am going to be famous one day, whether it be one of the three. But for some reason, none of it is good enough for me. I can never meet my own satisfaction. All of my teachers say that I am going to make it big one day. All of my friends and family say the same. I am not the popular girl in school, and I am just average looking. I have pimples invading my face and I am not skinny, but not fat. I am 5'1 and I weigh 107. Yet, everybody says I am very pretty. Why is this? I feel like the world is going against me for some reason, because no one gives a

care. Why don't I see myself as others see me? I am a nobody in school, and I only have three or four friends. My family always pays attention to my younger and older sister. Why is this? The only one in the world that pays attention to me is my friends and my dad. But everybody says I am so talented, but why don't I feel like it? When is my so-called talents ever going to be noticed? When will somebody notice me? Will I ever be famous one day, in your opinion? I know it is a stupid question, but I am just wondering, because it doesn't feel like it.

I's common to have a distorted view of yourself,low self esteem. You need to talk to a psychologist to learn to think differently.

Look I know how you're feeling.... I have hte same problems.. I'm 13 too... And sort of see myself in you.. I'm taller than you though but whatever.. I'm always getting told that too I will get somewhere.. And I intend to.. And I'm never happier when I'm on stage singing touching someones heart or acting and strikeing a cord with someone.. I would love to record myself too.

Chances are if everyone tells you you're good, you probably are. Trust yourself... I have a hard time, like I see you too, aknowedging when I'm good.. My friends are always saying ooh you're so good... It sounds to me like you almost want more from your talents? That you're not extremely happy with your gifts and you want more all the time.. Maybe you're talented but don't get a joy out of your talents maybe there's something else out there that gives you a thrill.. Keep yourself open to other possibilities... Like myself, I have my whole next 10 years planned out...It's sort of scary.. Maybe get some voice lessons if you don't already have a voice teacher,, Keep developing your skills and trust that whomever you believe in, God, Buddha, the divine creater that you have been given a gift. And it would be a shame to waste your talents.

You are 13 going on 30. We all feel that way. We all have doubts and concerns. We listen to our families, they are on our side but they really don't help. So, you have to take the bull by the horns honey and do this for yourself. It is not looks that get you where you want to be, it is energy. Its only failure if you don't keep trying. I believe you need help to get your direction. Guidance counselor at school would be a good start. I know you are in Jr High but take some time and go see the Drama teacher at the high school, the choir director at your church and at school and the high school. If you don't get the right answers find them some where else. Is there a theater in your town. Meet them, introduce yourself. Learn and grow. Next go to the college, meet people who have what you want and need and learn. There are special schools for children who have interests in what you would like to do but you need help to get there. You ARE ONLY 13!!! You need to finish school get an education then go on to big and better things. If your career is meant to happen it will. as far as no one paying attention to you--you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself at such a young age and be blessed and appreciate that you have friends and a dad that take the time with you.

You wanna know something? being fat or skinny doesn't matter, it is whether you can sing or not. I want you to know that I am thirteen as well, and I do my best at singing all the time. I want to become a singer someday, but that may not happen. If you believe you can sing greatly, continue, but never give up.

You what you need to stop talking down about yourself because that's whats is affecting you! If your friends, family and teachers say you can do then believe in your self and that's what matters!

well I'm 14 and all i can say is focus on your singing and if someone disses you just tell them to screw off and keep walking in. and do some fun thing enter in solo competitions and solo adjudications. but remember you sing to have fun not bc you have too.

You probably worry about things too much. Just be your self and you might see what other people see. Not a guarantee but,You worry too much. Just relax.

Try out for American Idol.......you will get the truth from Simon Cowell
