Go to Tools>Internet Options>General Tab>Delete Cookies button. It is also good to delete the Temp Files and the History. This cleans the Browser Cache and prevents many problems. I do this once a week, needed or not.
Some cookies will not be deleted by the above procedure. You can use AS programs like Spybot Search and Destroy, AVG Antispyware(also called ewido) and AdAware to remove those cookies.

To delete all cookies
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
On the General tab, under Browsing history, click Delete.
Click Delete cookies, and then click Yes.
Click Close, and then click OK.

Go to internet options in Internet explorer(or firefox) in general tab there is a delete history tab, click that and there is a delete cookie option. Or in some versions of browser there is a delete cookie button directly in the general tab of internet options.

with firefox click on tools, and clear private data, then select cookies and anything else you might want to get rid of like your history. With internet explorer click on tools, internet options, under temporary internet files click on delete cookies.
