The easiest way to do this is forget about windows media player. You need to determine what file you keep your music in. Go to search from your start menu and put in a sing title or artist you know you have. When it comes up right click it and press open containing folder. This will open up the folder with your music. Highlight everything you want to move and drag it over to itunes. Should work fine.

What you want to do is first find out what folder you have your Windows Media player music stored in, then when you find that out go to itunes click file "add folder to library" and locate the folder from which your music is stored with the windows media player music after you find that folder click on it so that it is highlighted and press okay, your music should start to import from that folder. Hope I helped!

itunes songs bought from the itunes store can only be played on itunes or an ipod that is connected to itunes. to play it on windows media player you need a software called tunebite, which plays the song and records it at the same time as a format compatible with windows media player

You'll need to locate where the actual music files are located on your computer. The "music" you see in your Windows Media Player and iTunes are just links/shortcuts. This is why you won't be able to directly drag something from WMP to iTunes.

Chances are you music files are all located in the same folder, you just didn't know. Go into WMP, go to one of your songs, Right Click on it and go to Properties...within Properties you'll see the exact folder in which your songs are located.

Then double click on My Computer, go to your C: drive and locate the folder, you'll find all your music files. All you have to do now is drag those files into iTunes and you'll have those songs in iTunes.
