My friend plays electric/acoustic guitar and I play electric/acoustic violin. We've been playing together for 3-4 months but haven't really recorded anything yet. Could the two man band work?

I think it could, but you would really have to find something that people like. The White stripes are able to pull of the two man band because they have percussion or bass. In my opinion, a nice beat or bass line is key to good music. If you guys could find one of those two things and bump it up to a thrre man band, then you'd be set. I love the idea of the violin, awesome and good luck.

there's no reason why it cant. The band I'm in, we're looking to expand, but its two guitarists and a bassist, sounds absolutly fine. And we started with just the two guitarists and the songs we wrote sounded fine, no need for bass in it, but we later added it. But yea it should work fine.

Yes, but it's tough, you will have to sythesize some stuff, which gets wierd and can turn fans off.
