it was slightly less than my co-pay, but i wanted to know if your prescribed prenatals come in at a 30 day supply or more?

i was checking on drugstore.com and you have to buy them by the box and you get 100 per box.

Some doctors will recommend Materna from Centrum, it's100 tablets for 100 days and you don't need a prescription to buy it.

For around $10, you can get Spring Valley prenatals, over the counter. There are 240 tablets. See if your current brand has stool softners. If so, you may want to buy a seperate bottle of those.

My doctor wrote a 10 month prescription. You need roughly 400 pills to last your whole pregnancy, plus the next month after you have the baby to help build your vitamin stores back up. Sometimes, it is cheaper to just buy them over the counter, just make sure they have at least 400-600 ug of folic acid.

You can get prenatal pills without a prescription. Besides you ahve to go to the Dr once a month so you can get it re-filled when you go.

you'll be back at the doctor in a month anyways, he/she might just want to make sure the vitamins worked ok for you. My prenatal vitamins would make me throw up everytime I took them.
