I think about this question a lot, and simply put, yes. I don't think it is as simple as all out legalization, though. Living in the Pacific Northwest, I see the policy in British Colombia as an excellent example which we should follow. It is not uncommon to walk down the streets of downtown Vancouver and witness someone smoking a joint in a coffee shop or in Stanley Park. I just get the feeling that it is not that big of a deal to most of the people who live there, whether they use marijuana or not. With some education and straight facts, I think that this way of thinking would be shared by most of the people in America. I know people get very passionate about this issue, but it is my personal opinion that marijuana should be decriminalized in America (21 years and older), for those who wish to use it. It should follow the same set of rules as alcohol, considering that in a lot of ways it is much less harmful.
Honestly, I think people should try it before the knock it.

Yes, I think it should be legalized. After all, cigarettes and alcohol are both legal and they are FAR more dangerous than marijuana. People never go to the hospital because of smoking too much marijuana, it just makes you happy and hungry, yet alcohol kills thousands as well as cigarettes. I still think they should have laws against smoking marijuana and driving or operating machinery, but they do that with alcohol, so what's the problem?

It saying No meant that no idiots out there could smoke pot (you know, they type of person who gets drunk and becomes a total ****), I'd say No, but since they're going to do it anyway, legalize it, tax it, and throw the book at anyone who's doing something they shouldn't be if they're high.
It's a grey issue. Some people can handle it and mellow out and others can't. I'm not a fan of punishing everyone because of a few idiots, but then again I don't want my surgeon toking up before I go under the knife.

EASY one to answer...YES! Do I smoke it? No. However, I take care of people for a living. I see many people, young & old that are in unnecessary pain everyday. Knowing that their disease will only get worse, and pain meds really mess up a persons system, why not let them feel good for awhile without ruining their livers, kidneys, respiratory systems,etc..?? Personally, i'd rather be around a stoner than a drunk anyday! I've never heard of any fatalities caused by a "high driver" have you? or heard of someone getting stupid and beating someone because they were "under the influence of marijuana",have you???
TRADE ALCOHOL FOR MARYJANE!!! sounds like a good idea to me...

yes. its been proven to help in the medical field. In fact i think all drugs should be legalized in conjuction with the argument that "its my body." If a crimme is commited such as armed robbery or murder try them for that crime. Afterall, what the difference between commiting a crime under the influence of alcohol and cocaine for example? Now there is the argument that sharing needles causes aids. However, like cigarettes, people who share needles know the risks.

Yes, for two OK three reasons.
1 we're missing a HUGE tax base here.
2 It's a problem that is NOT going to go away. It's a basic part of mans psyche to alter his reality. Even animals do it.
3 it's so pleasant!

No! I've seen the way people act on weed. Why would you want a bunch of morons acting even more idiotic. Or lets say someone driving a schoolbus, or a cop on drugs, or a doctor. No!
