Yeah I think everybody who can give should give. i have given 30 pints, it does not hurt or take long, about 1 hour every 4 - 6 months. I always come away feeling really elated at doing something beneficial to so many people. And if (though I pray not) any of my loved ones should ever need a transfusion, I will be eternally grateful to those selfless people who donated that precious commodity

The first time I gave blood was when I was in US Army basic training. I have type O+ which is one of the universal donors.
Giving blood saves lives and if you're willing, then I'd do it. I recently was invloved in a major auto accident and had surgery, I don't know if I needed blood or not, but if I did it would have been from generous donors.
It's not a scary thing at all. Call the Red Cross or the local hospital and ask them where you can donate.
The best part is you get free cookies and drinks when you're done. And it's mostly painless.

I do. It doesn't hurt. Basically you turn up. A nurse asks you if you've ever sucked off another guy or taken it up the bum, you feel a small prick in the arm and lie back for a little while pumping your fist. Then when it's done you get free biscuits and tea and a sense of satisfaction that you've done your bit to help save someone's life. Best bit is to go straight out afterwards and sink a couple of pints and maybe indulge in a little smoke - blows your head off - ha ha.

I gave blood in college and it was fine, it didn't hurt one bit. I haven't for a while because I had 2 kids, I had litres of the stuff taken out of me and I was a little bit fed up. I shall have another go soon I think. My dad had a transfusion and I am very glad that people are kind enough to donate, we ALL need to do it. You could save people, just think of that!

I've been giving blood for about 20 years.
The downsides are the wait at our local donation session if you don't have an appointment; and sometimes a slightly sore arm for a couple of hours.
The upside is that you may be saving someone's life.
Just do it (but pre-book an appointment if you can)

Yes I do, it doesn't hurt, you get free biscuits and to be frank, it saves someones life. You gain the blood you loose back in 7 hours. If you don't mind weighing a little less for 7 hours you should definately do it.

I think everyone healthy enough to give blood should have to. Lets face it - if your loved one was dieing and couldn't get a transfusion, you'd wish more people had given blood. Same goes for organs.

I used to give blood regularly, but they keep tightening up the rules and now they keep knocking me back because I don't have enough myself!
It's easy and painless and there's always a great atmosphere in the hall, and if you have a beer after you get drunk really easy!

I think it great that people do. My family tend to do it regularly. The first time i tried, i was underweight, so was refused. And the second time, i'd not long had a tattoo done, so i couldnt!
So not yet, but i definately will...
