...women. How are you protecting that part of yourself?

I am asking this because I, a woman, feel sorry that women sometimes figure a little too much in
your lives.. Is there not a domain like that for you?

I like the idea of a men's club ... where men get to be by themselves, have a quiet dinner with their friends, then sit after dinner in another room full of leather couches, big vases of flowers, a game or two to play like chess or backgammon, good books, a roaring fire in the fireplace, and a ton of time to dream... some after-dinner coffee, some brandy, a little chocolate ... and time by yourself .... to be comfortable by yourself.... and no children, women or dogs are invited! How else does a man in this world, with his job, his family and other responsibilities get time to unwind?

What do you think ..... necessary or not necessary .. and how would you set about getting whatever it is that you need?

I agree with you. And I also agree that women should have times and places among themselves to enjoy all of their interests in common. It's very necessary and good for members of both sexes to have interests, hobbies and atmospheres of their own where those attributes may be shared by those of like mind. It helps to promote individuality and to diminish a need for codependency. It also helps members of one sex to more readily appreciate and understand the needs of the other!

How does one set about getting whatever it is that is needed in this respect? It's not easy these days, but if one already has friends of like mind, it is much easier to accomplish. Otherwise, one can search out hobbies and interests online or in local community newspapers.

The smart women in my life have learned; when I get home, give me about 30 minutes to cool down(I'm not talking about the heat). If it is hot outside(now I am talking about heat) give me a little longer and probably a few glasses of water.

This means no nagging at me. No screaming kids or tv or radio. Let me zone out. Then when thats done, come up to me and tell me how pissed off you are at me.
