How is Yahoo Answers financed, I've not paid any money and have not seen any advertisements, does someone do it out of the kindness of their hearts?

I think a person needs to have a yahoo account, like email, to be able to use yahoo answers. So that way they will visit yahoo homepage a lot to check emails, lots of advertising on there.

Well, it does provide Yahoo! with a pretty large database of questions and answers. The Best Answer and rating system allows them to sort out most of the crap.

In the UK Yahoo! is teamed up with BT (British Telecom) who is my ISP... so in a way .. part of my subscription to BT helps pay for it...
