Whats the best home alarm system? ADT? BRINKS?

I'd check locally for a small company to do the installation work. Most alarm companies other than ADT and Brinks report to a common monitoring station. Investigate where the station is, how they are staffed, how modern the equipment is, and so on.
As part of your decision, consider monthly or yearly fees. It is likely that you will decide to sign a three year monitoring contract. This will help the installation company recover some of the installation expense. After the contract is up, you are not obligated to remain with the same company, and your monitoring fees should reduce considerably. The alarm system will belong to you. Ensure that you are given the installers access code so that you can program the system yourself or allow another company to program it for you. Don't let them change the code without your knowledge either! WIthout this code, you are essentially locked into the same company forever unless you replace the main alarm panel.

Neither, both are about the same. Go with price and ease of installation. Also, it doesnt hurt to go to a gun safety training class and learn how to PROPERLY work a hand gun. My personal preference is an M-1 Garand firing 180 grain 30-06' rounds.... Oh and I have ADT, which helps.....

Even a mediocre local company will give you better customer service than adt/brinks. Go Local.

we had somebody broke in to our home... after the fact we had an alarm system installed.. we have BRINKS.. my sister's house has ADT... both systems seems to be working just fine.. just do a canvas on the prices... services available may also depend on the kind of house you have.. well good luck..
