The human mind is structured so that it is constantly judging and evaluating people and situations, it is part of the survival instinct. When for instance we witness a person who talks nasty behind his/her friends back, it would be wise to judge that person as untrustworthy and disloyal and to avoid getting to close to that person. On the other hand when we witness a person sharing and helping others and refrained from a lot of malicious gossip, we judge that person to be decent and we would sooner trust that person. Of Course, some people seems to makes a habit of more readily putting others down, they are the ones who need to look in the mirror a little more often.

When people hold strong beliefs ... and they do NOT choose to look at things from a different perspective ... I will usually NOT make any judgmental call about their eliefs, tending to respect their choices in life (although .. with a bit of effort on their part, they could possibly enjoy learning something different ...)
