My microwave plug heats to near sizzling point with just five minutes of use. It doesnt seem to be the wall socket. I have plugged in the microwave at various points in the house and same problem. Does anyone know whats wrong?

The microwave is drawing too many amps for some reason, and the cord is not rated for that amount of amps. Could be a bad wire, or connection. You need to get it checked before using it again, or you could have a fire on your hand.

The prongs of the microwave plug are most likely the problem. The metal of the prongs is folded and from use the metal has been squashed together and is not making a good tight connection with the clips inside the receptacle. If you can spread the two pieces apart in the middle between the tip and the plastic of the plug 1/16" it will make a better connection and not heat up. It does not matter if you spread them just a little farther but too far and you will not be able to fit it into the receptacle. You could use a small screwdriver or a small knife(paring knife) to do this but be careful that you do not injure yourself. I have done this on many many plugs since I learned about this in shop class 43 years ago

You may have an ear infection, which isn't something you necessarily need to worry about until it starts being painful (at which point I would go get antibiotics). Don't use saline drops in your ears. If it's an ear infection, they won't reach your middle ear anyway. Either way, it's not something to need to fix this instant. Give it a day or two and see what happens. Maybe you just drooled in your ear while you were sleeping?

There is probably a loose wire connection within the plug of the microwave. It also may be in the oven itself.
I would start by replacing the cord/plug combo.

It is time to call an appliance repair company and have the cord replaced. The heating up is caused by the electricity and you are creating a fire hazard by continuing to use it. Please don't use it again until you've had it replaced.

If it is a GE product, then, well good luck! They are totally worthless.
