Conservatism does not seek the centralization of power. It seeks the exact opposite. Communism, Socialism and Fascism are all basically the same thing. Super strong Central Government. Conservatism is the opposite. It is firmly rooted in the basic belief that the best government is the government that governs least. On the extreme right is not fascism. The extreme right is Libertarianism. On the extreme left is Socialism in any of its many forms. I am surprised you have not learned this in school. What are they teaching you anyway? *

The correct question should be - What is the difference between Communism and Liberalism. And the answer would be practically nothing.
Why is it our country is being overrun by people trying to get into it and communist countries have a hard time keeping people in their country?

I can't see a single damaged thing to the USA from Communism...the Communist party in the US is very weak, the cold war with communist Russia caused us damage, but this shadow conflict probably increased our power, because more effort was given to military development.
On the other hand, neo-conservatism is a wholly domestic creation...somewhat resembling McCarthyism...
Ya, maybe the fear of communism is about as damaging as the fear instilled into us by the neo-cons,
