I'm a SAHM of three and yes all my boys come to me first for just about anything. I'm just the one that is always here. I think they will outgrow it though. Mine are all 6 and under.

it will be find up to about a year or so they'll bond closer to the caretaker whom spends most of the time but at 1 1/12 ,2 the father usually if the spend time and quality time. the bond is there . have him take one day week (one of his days off) and every day on that day you take a break and have him do all the care giving . that what my dad did for my mom every Sunday my mom got to sleep in and my dad did all feeding changing and bathing . OH ya I'm a twin so my dad did get a work out.

I have a 5 month old baby girl and she is very attached to me. I think its natural, because they are in the mothers womb. Mothers have a natural bond with their babies because they hear your voice for nine months and it becomes soothing to them. But the bond with the father grows over time and can become just as strong as the mothers.

I think that you are right, you are around more, and thus the baby gets more attached to you.

I have a friend who died in child birth. The baby is being raised by Dad and his sister who lives with him. The aunt is not favored by the baby, and I am sure it is because it is Dad who has nurtured him-the aunt is just a baby sitter.

Mine did...which is understandable as you are the primary caregiver. You nurse the baby and that is a bonding experience in its own. They will always be attached with mommy. As they get older and Dad can do more then it sometimes shifts.

Children tend to carry over a bond they have with the mother from the womb. But in time you will se it change, depending the fathers involvement with your child.

My son actually hardly saw his dad during the first few months of his life, so he wasn't attached to him. As I was obviosly doing the breastfeeding I was more interesting to him.
Now things have changed, and they do spend lots of quality time together.

Of course they are. No matter what, they have nine months of living inside of you that no one can ever make up. Usually, after birth, the time is spent with Mom also for stronger bonding.

My son was very attached to me and still is actually, then my daughter was born and she took to her daddy for some reason. I am a stay at home mom and he works but as soon as he comes home she never leaves his side.
