My band is electronic/garage/funk, and Im trying to come up with a catchy and cool name??

What is your first songs name? You might want to get togethe with the band and figure a name out. Usually if titles are hard artist title their CD their song name, if it's a catchy title...and your first hit..inspire your band from that.

What I do for anything like that (writing or titles) is have a running list of cool dictionary words. Pick a bunch that you want to symbolize your band ( a wacky name if you are psychedelic type band ect.). Just collect words first. Then you can put a bunch of words on index cards and just randomly place a couple of them side by side to see if it sounds cool. Or take individual words and see if you can alter the spelling so it sounds cool- or see if an random ideas come to you from free-associating on one word that you have.
Just let these words float in your head for a couple days or so and you might just get random ideas when driving to school or something.
First and foremost, your band name has to be one that if someone where randomly checking out bands, they could pretty much tell what type of band you are from the name.

When I was in high school I said I wanted to start a death metal band that sang covers of Disney songs because no one would know the difference anyhow. Since it doesn't look like its ever going to happen, I guess you could use my band name, Super Charged Happy Meal. I expect any user to buy me a Prius if they get famous using my band name.
