February is Black History Month,couldn't they have made it in a warmer month ?

This is what my grandmother used to complain about.
She used to say"Why the hell did they have to give us the coldest month of the year?" "I can't have no cookout in February!"

Funny You should ask. I'm part Pawnee Indian and I often wounder with all the this day and that day We have where is the Indian day? I don't say American Indian because My people were what is called Indians before America was. Now I'm a nam vet (not worth anymore than being an Indian) And I will defend America to death but if You really want to have month to remember. We didn't charge You taxes, steel and pollute the earth.Most everything You and I see today in the USA that makes us fear for our health and safety and that of our children was not Your or My or their doing. Your People were stoled from their home land and My heart pains for them, But please remember My people were and still are treated worse. We are strangers in our own land. But don't worry Your people are a stronge people and it has and will take more than cold to get them down.

I'm sorry, but the relevance of your question to ANYTHING is hard to find...I'm obviously not the only person that thinks so. As far as arguing that it's the shortest month (which I hear alot), at least a month is set aside for it. Other minorities don't have a "history month."
