Sodium, potassium, and calcium compounds almost always exist in their ionic states. Thus calcium chloride, potassium iodide, and sodium chloride are ionic compounds. The other three compounds are not ionic because they are held together only with covalent bonds. You can easily see this by looking up their structures.
