I am feeling your frustration!!! There is nothing worse when you are dealing with a crying child and noone is supporting you. If the problem is teething, try Hyland's tablets. They work wonders on the pain. You can get them at WalGreens...probably anywhere. Second, have you had your child looked at professionally. Maybe he is having gas pains. I'm assuming that you have started cereal or fruit. Try taking it away to see if that helps. He could be having problems digesting the food. And if the crying becomes too much, walk away. Your santity is important too!!!

There are many things to consider. Does the baby suck a bottle or nurse from the breast? If he sucks a bottle, he could be getting air into his belly which causes gas pains. If he is nursing, you might need to nurse more often. Hold the baby when you feed him. What is he eating? Many foods cause allergies so be very careful about the new foods you introduce. Only introduce one new food a week and see how he responds. I would remove all solid food for a week. Feed him only milk--up his milk intake. Then start with some cereal-just a little. Don't expect him to eat a big bowl of cereal until he is older. It is best to start with Rice Cereal. There are less allergies from Rice. Next week every day feed him Rice Cereal for breakfast, banana baby food for lunch and Cereal for dinner, plus his milk. Make sure he is getting enough feedings of milk. Feed him when he is hungry. Don't make him wait. Following week give him rice cereal and bananas for breakfast and dinner, and introduce a new fruit for lunch. For a solid week feed him these things. The following week introduce a new fruit. Be slow bringing in vegetables or table foods to a baby's diet because vegetables are more gaseous and cause them stomach pains. This should give you an ideas of how to proceed with foods. Your child might have food allergies so be careful. If he has any rashes consider changing his formula if that is what he eats. Don't try to make him stay on a schedule until he is sleeping better and being calmer. Babies cry for a reason not just because they want to bother you. There is something wrong with the child. You just need to figure out what. Check the diapers. Is there a rash? If so treat it. Try wrapping him up so he feels more secure. Make sure he is warm or cool enough for the weather. Look in his eyes. Do they have wax or look like they have been running. Let him feel the warnth of your body. Rock him. Crying is NOT good for babies. Send him loving feelings. Massage him. Best wishes.

I am sure it is teething. My mom taught me to rub the baby's gums from day one. She says that she never knew when her babies were teething. And ya know what? The same thing happened to me and my kids. Each of them had teeth in their mouths before I knew it!

You need to get help in your house. Ask someone to watch him over night once a week, so you can get some sleep. This will help you tremendously! Try to nap when he does. Get a wash cloth, wet one corner of it and stick it in the freezer. Later, you can give it to him to chew on.

Good luck!

Talk to your pediatrician to make sure your babe isnt sick first. Then if you dont already have him on teething tablets or baby orajel to help with his teething i would strongly suggest it :) Let him suck on a Cold washcloth they love to chew on things!
