i recently found out that i miscarried. i haven't had a d&c, so i mainly have my period. i gush blood like crazy at times and other times i spot. and cramping...WOW! it's the most painful thing i've ever had happen not just phisically but mentally. my dr. gave me pills to "regulate" the bleeding making it more of a regular flow and the cramps are starting to subside. has anyone else had these symptoms after a miscarriage? how long did it last? did you have to have a d&c to stop it?

Ive had 4 pregnancies and 3 children, I miscarried 1. U bleed and cramp like that whether u actually had a baby or u lost him. This is normal to an extent. Bleeding usually last about 2 to 3 weeks. I didn't have a d&c. If ur doc didnt give u one it probably wasnt necessary (a womans body has a way of self cleansing). If your becoming concerned about the bleeding, let doc know so he can make sure your not hemorraging. Im so sorry for your lost, I know how you feel.

I had a miscarriage as well. I did not have a D&C either. I had cramps so bad that I was doubling over in pain. About a week later, the pain subsided, but the bleeding continued steadily for about another 3 or 4 days. For a few more days I had light bleeding, but not the gushing I had experienced the previous weeks. I'm very sorry that you are going through this, as I know how painfully it is physically and emotionally. If you feel that something is very wrong, however, you should consult a doctor. They will be able to give you the physical and mental help you may find that you need. Good luck!

Every person is different but it's good to hear what other people experienced to give yourself and idea. What I did was I went to www.babycenter.com. This is like an online chat center for pregnant women, women trying to conceive, women that have lost a child etc. There are different "chat" channels that you can enter. I would suggest this, it's live time and you can speak about your loss as well.
I had cramping and bleeding for about 2 weeks. My doctor then decided to do a D and C. It stopped shortly after. My doctor had said some woman need them so soon and some women don't. It depends on the size of the uterus etc. Turns out I needed one. I would wait until about 2 weeks post and then consult a doctor if things don't seem to get back to normal.

I have had 2 miscarriages. Both ended in D & C's, a D &C is used when your own body will not get rid of the pregancy so they have to go in and remove it. Your body appears to be doing it naturally. I do know that you can bleed and cramp from a natrual miscarriage for a few weeks. Just make sure you are not hemmoraging, if you are bleeding in excess of having to change a pad every hour. You may need to be hospitalized, people can die from hemmoraging. Just watch how often you change your pad and if its more than once in an hour (meaning-you are bleeding exesively in the hour) Call your dr right away and let them know how much your bleeding. Take care of yourself, stay off your feet and good luck.

I had one and did not have a d&c. I pasted it one night and and had contractions and water breaking. bad pains for two-three days. I am so sorry thid happened to you and hope you heal fast mentally. Mine was almost 4 years ago and I still cry over it. But if I remember right, after about two weeks I was feeling as normal as possibal and quit bleeding and all. Good luck and I am so sorry for your lost.
