My dad used to tell me that when I was really little and my response to him was "I wanna be a tree when I grow up" because they were so tall and I wanted to be that tall. After awhile he stopped telling me that.

I truly believe you can be anything you want to be.
But surely, you need to work at it! One thing is to say "I want to be a Pilot" and other is to actully do some research on the subject. Find out what you need to learn/do to become a pilot. I don't think being too short will keep you from flying a plane.
Where did you hear this? Have you tried looking for other options?
If your mind is focusing on a 'major' flaw of yours, then you have already been defeated! You've given up before even trying. Nothing is impossible, "search and you shall find".

I don't think that either. The sky is not the limit due to our own physical or intellectual limitations, educational limitations, or the fact that a particular position has far more candidates than can be accommodated. Then there are also those occupations for which you really need to know the right people to get in.
