Currently the executive branch mostly makes misdirected statements, They may not be telling lies, they just are not telling the truth, the real motives behind their actions..

look up a copy of the constitution online. There is an entire article on the executive branch. For one thing, they print paper money and mint coins. Another - they run the post office.
