i haven't got any cramps....do you think this is a one-off or i'm one of the lucky ones or it could just depend, sometimes i could or sometimes i might not?
p.s. don't tell me to ask my mom, she died when i was 5 and i don't want to talk to my dad about this sort of thing.....

nope, there is not a way on this earth i am talking to my dad about it! i guess i don't really have anyone else but i can hadnle it on my own...honestly.

Congratulations !!
A period doesn't always mean cramps.It's just the women who have trouble that write in about them.
I hope you can discuss this with a friend or a friends Mother.
I am sure your Mom is with you in spirit.

some people get cramps and some don't. If you don't then you are the lucky one. But there may be some months that you will get them worse then others.
Also, you will have months when you will bleed more then other months. Good luck and I would say congrats, but getting your period is not a fun thing. Sorry to hear about your mom.

It just depends. When I first started having periods, I didn't get cramps, but now I get them on the first day. Some people get severe cramps, mine are never very bad. If you don't have them count yourself lucky! It may not always be that way.

I didnt get any cramps when my first period surprised me, and then later on I ended up having horrible cramps, so this could just be a lucky day, or maybe you will be a lucky pms_er and never have bad cramps.

Menarche (beginning of the monthlies) -- doesn't mean you have to have cramps. I had very little problem with periods: no cramping, bloating, spotting, emotional highs & lows ......
I fairly active at your age; maybe that had something to do with it.
Good idea to find some adult gal pal you can present these questions to... doesn't necessarily have to be a relative. More questions will arise in time...

well, often the first periods you either have absolutly awful cramps or none at all. But hey.. you might be lucky and never get tham at all!
Oh and don't worry. One of my friend's started a month ago.. she's 17. :)

I didn't have cramps the first time I got my period... they came about the third time I got my period...and I get really bad ones.
Just pray that your one of the lucky ones!

You might be one of the lucky ones that doesn't get cramps. I sometimes get cramps, and sometimes I don't. But if you ever get cramps I suggest a painreliever like Ibuprophen.

I really know how you feel. My mom died when I was two, (on my b-day, of course, nice celebration!) and I really don't remember her.
You could try talking to your dad, or maybe a cousin, or do what I did, a BFF!
