I don't agree. God says that is a horrible sin.

The problem with the marriage conversation is that there are actually 2 versions of marriage that are being discussed (religious and legal), but they are being treated as the same thing.

As for religious marriage, some religions have something, whether scripture or otherwise, against the coupling of same-sex individuals. Since religion is a personal choice, I have nothing against those who disapprove of same-sex marriage. The problem I have comes when a religious person attempts to impose their religious beliefs onto the legal system here in America. Same-sex marriage should be LEGAL. This is because making it unlegal would actually infringe on some people's religious belief, while making it legal would only agitate those who disapprove, but would not actually prevent them from practicing their religion.

I apologize for the long-winded answer. For the poll I vote yea! They should be allowed to marry and I believe that if they share a loving and long-term type of relationship, then it is right for them to be married and share in the legal perks that all of us straight married couples benefit from.

I believe everyone has the right to get married if that is what they want. Two straight people who don't love each other should not have more of a right to get married over two gay people who do.

sure, i could purchase gay or lesbian neighbours a marriage present. actual, i could probable purchase them something better/extra high priced than i could a at once couple. All straights would desire to do is insinuate that they are getting married and individuals fawn over them. i could purchase atheist neighbours a cutting-edge, as properly. this is humorous, how all those homophobic Christians answering right here comfortably forgot approximately that scripture they so like to repeat at different situations. you realize the only. LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR. illiberal asses. in addition they block out the undeniable fact that marriage replaced into around long, long formerly Christianity. humorous, that.

Well i'm a British lesbian...my partner is American. She had to move here to the UK to be with me because i wasn't able to move to the US because the federal government does not recognise our relationship.
We are Civil Partners under British Law...Civil Partnership is like marriage in every way except the name...we had a ceremony and everything!.

So YES...i believe it is right that gay/lesbian couples should be allowed to marry..or atleast provided with an alternative to marriage (like civil partnership). So that they can be publicly and legally bonded to the person they love.

Absolutely!
A church that does not recognize gay marriage should also be allowed to keep their beliefs but other churches that do should be free to marry, legaly, anyone they want to marry of consenting age.
Civil unions should also be performed by a judge or whoever as a fee service of the government, this would benefit many:
Divorce lawyers
estate planners
lenders, etc.
Who could gay marriage hurt? no one!!!

Yes. He isn't going to hurt any body by getting married. Marriage is something that is beyond government control, so even if the state doesn't recognize, he can still get married.

Why not?
I'd like to marry my boyfriend...but in Italy there'll be no possibilities!(we got her mistress-the pope!)
I really love him and all I ask is to have the same rights and duties that straight couples have!
Without a marriage, my family can't be recognised as it should be...that sucks!
we are not different from anyone...
Our Love is not different!
And for those who believe that my nature is wrong and that we are sinners...well...wake up...we are all God's creatures and He loves us...He loves all of us...no exception...
who are u to judge us?
That's presumption!

It is none of my business or anyone else's whether anyone can, may or does get married. Would those who disapprove be asking this question if the neighbors were heterosexual? Shame on those who judge!
