Try the coach at megabus.com
It will cost you pennies,
London to leeds return cost me £8,
So yours would be just as cheap.
Failing that have you got an ebay account,
Its a long shot but people sell unwanted train tickets on there.

A through ticket can be booked on Virgin Cross Country, although a change of train may be required, usually at Birmingham. Have a look at www.thetrainline.com or www.virgin.com/trains
You will be able to select your date of travel and the train of your choice with the lowest fare. Once you have booked a specific ticket, don't try to use it on another train, you'll be required to pay the full fare, and we're talking big money.........
