Okay, I am supposed to figure out elapsed time.

10:10 pm and 6:20 am.

I need to show my work, using military time. I can't explain the answer comes up 4 hours 95 minutes, there aren't 95 minutes in an hour... so if i take away 35 minutes.... 5:00,
then I add the 35 minutes back on to the 5:00, it's the wrong answer please help! I have to do a whole bunch of hard problems. Please give me a good explanation of what I am doing wrong. I need help!

For PM- add 12. 10:10 pm = 22:10
And 6:20 AM = 6:20
You've wrapped around a day, so try adding 24 hours (a whole day) to the second time . 6:20 -> 30:20

Now subtract- 30:20 - 22:10 = 8:10
Eight hours, 10 minutes elapsed.

doesn't it make it 17:35?? when u add the 35 min? because 5pm = 17:00
