etc.

The far off cry
That I just can't reach
The distance binds
And the obnoxiousness blinds

But the lions growl
Has finally reached me
And it's do or die
Alone, hung out to dry

The army of one must grow
But I refuse all recruits
I can't trust anybody to watch my back
To help me find my way thhrough the sea of black


The dream will live on
Til the day I die
But hope has long started to fade
My edges are more than frayed

That a really good poem... I can't think of how I would make it better though.. You knew exactly what you wanted to express an you did just that.
