I was a bank teller during college. It worked out great. Most of the time I could work a couple days a week for 4 to 5 hours then work their Saturday hours with Sundays off. They pay better than most part time jobs, and when it's slow, they usually don't mind if you study. It was fantastic! I made decent money (for a college student) and never had any issues with study time!

Can you? Absolutely. Make sure your financial aid/scholarships will still cover you if you only attend part-time. Some will only cover full-time enrollment. Others will still give you aid based on the number of hours you are attending. Working and going to school part-time is a great way to avoid going into great debt with school loans. Try it for a semester and see how it goes. If you can't handle a full-time job, you can cut back to around 25-30 hours per week and still make decent money. Good luck. Oh, and make sure you budget really well. Don't get an extremely expensive apartment that you can't afford. Don't blow your money on stuff you don't need. Etc. I think you will be fine if you plan ahead and stick to your budget.

This is going to sound *boring*, but a good friend of mine worked on-campus as a parking lot attendant. All she did is sit in the booth and take the ticket/money when people left. She worked about 3 days a week and while there was nothing going on, she just sat in the booth and studied! Sounds like a good deal to me! Plus it was within walking distance!

I enjoyed my time at a video store, it was mom and pop, but was so much FUN and they were really good about working around my hours, and since it's the type that is open later in the evenings and on weekends, that helps.

But one could try grocery stores, or even a radio station, they need folks round the clock.
