The capitalist system would once again force people to work in the worst possible conditions although those who own the companies would get far richer as people begin to get paid 4 possibly five dollars an hour. Read you Industrial Rev' history and the expansion of capitalism. it would go back down that road. Because without decent wages, homelessness would increase, birth rate would plummet, whilst the companies and corporations would come to dominate every facet of life due to the fact that they have all the money because they are not legislated to give you any of it. If the whole world went like that there would be no place to go and you would be forced to take any job to make ends meet with very little profit to you.

Nothing. Market forces would ensure that wages do not depress as people would not be willing to work for less. Where can you find a job that pays you minimum wage? Even Wal-Mart pays more the minimum to get people to work there. Market forces are already at work to keep wages the way they are.

It would hurt the hard working people who are trying to earn a living starting from scratch. This would put the jobs in the hands of illegals willing to work for change. Unless there is a control on illegal immigration and labor (such as anyone hiring illegal workers will be shot on sight along with the illegal employees), there won't be a fair way to eliminate the minimum wage law.

More poverty and abuses from employers.
If you work, you shouldn't be poor--that's the basic reason for the minimum wage.
The wage is supposed to ensure that full-time, year-round work would provide an income at or above the poverty line.
Although there is broad agreement that, for a family to pay for the basic essentials, it actually requires an income level of around twice the poverty line.

Wages for unskilled labor would depress, but if it gets to low workers might leave for better paying areas. I guess it depends on the area you live in, the economical situation of your area, and the abundance of workers in the area. Living costs etc also play a factor. Also to mention, many states have their own minimum wage law that is much higher then the federal.
