You are too young to be thinking about this.......... Although, I understand it can upset you! You don't need to diet, your body is still growing and you need all the nutrients you can from your food as your body is changing, if you diet, there may not be enough nutrients to feed your body properly to help it through the changes! If you are worried that you are a bit heavy, just don't eat alot of take away foods, at 10 years old, that is all you need to do for now!

No, I don't think it is something you should be so worried about...you are still so young...
some advice-
This is not a diet...this is a healthy lifestyle change... you can try eatting the serving sizes on packages, less junk food(fast food, french fries, pop, coffee, energy drinks, chips, cookies) you get my point.... and get a half hour of physical activity each day...shoot some hoops, go for a run around the block, ride your bike to a friends house(instead of making your parents bring you) If you are close enough to school you could ask a friend to walk home with you, ask your family to go on a walk after supper...this means a fast paced walk(i usually do two steps in each sidewalk square, and I am short, if you are tall try one step or one and a half) See if you can get a membership to a community center and play with other people, tennis, kickball, rock climbing, or swimming. You don't need to quite eatting you need to DO more stuff--GET YOUR HEART RACING -- jumping jacks, jump ropes, get a kick boxing video tape todo.(do some extra work around the house to EARN it, don't just ask for it)
Before you go to bed do 15 push ups --suck in your belly and squeeze your butt, do them from your knees for a couple weeks then try to do them on your toes. If you have back problems do them on a wall. Stand with you feet together arms on the wall shoulder length apart and put your nose on the wall each time--pretend like you are pushing the wall when you come up...make it hard to push back up.
Hope this helps-

Hey listen here, about weight, its not about what other ppl tell you to do, and you shouldnt be stick thin just coz everyone else is, the question you should ask yourself, but your only 10! your a child, you shouldnt even consider things like dieting, just try and eat more healthy, its better for the body and by cutting back on things like choclate will help you lose it neway, do sports, dont sit on your butt watching telly or online, its not healthy, not physically nor mentally, and most importantly, as long as you are happy as you are, the rest doesnt matter!

The best way to find your perfect weight is to walk a hour or run 30 minutes everyday, eat reasonable (no chips, deserts etc) and see what happens after a couple of months...
If you lose weight then you may be overweight now. If your weight remains the same then no, you are not overweight.
Every ones body is different - you just need to make sure you keep yours healthy.

You are 10 years old. I think you should wait a couple of years before you start worrying about your weight. If you are obsessed with this have your mom or dad take you to the doctor and get their opinion. You are much too young to be worried about this. You're going to get taller and grow a lot between now and the time your 16. Slow down....enjoy being 10.

it all depends...my friend was really into basketball and softball like her whole life..but she was always over weight..i felt so bad cuz ive always been naturally skinny...she also went through puberty tho at a young age, about 4th grade. The cool thing is about 3-4 years later ...she grew taller and her chubbiness became muscle and she started getting all this attention from guys lol. i was so happy for her so if you do sports, keep keepin on.. your day will come!! if not...find a sport you can play with yer friends..track is super easy!!! lol

I think you need to look carefully at your eating habits. Are you eating junk food a lot? If yes, change your habits. Eat less junk and more healthy food. Do you play sports? Ride bikes? Stay active. Talk to you parents if you are really concerned about your weight.

You are so young to be worrying about such things! If you think you might have a weight problem then just start watching what you eat. Cut out the junk food and fast food. Also talk to your parent/parents about this they will try to buy you healthier foods.!!:)

You are a little overweight for your height, but since you are not an adult you have to be very careful on how you lose weight. It is very important to your brain development that you not diet like and adult would, instead, you need to modify your snacking habits. Start avoiding certain foods like soda, sports drinks, ice cream, cookies, candy, cake, etc, whole milk, etc....
Actually just changing what you drink may be enough. Maybe restrict yourself to light lemonade, water and skim milk. No sports drinks, frappucinos, soda, etc...
Remember try to eliminate snacking and sugary drinks only at first, don't mess with your normal meals unless you speak with a doctor.
