You can get a wide range of GPA's. If you recieve A's in all ur classes you recieve a 4.o. If you take AP classes this boosts your GPA because it is on a 5.0= an A and a B about 3.75. So if you take AP classes or your school offers other classes that are weighted higher then a 4.0 you can recieve a range over a 4.0 but, it is hard to say what the highest you can recieve but, you could determine what is in reason.

It completely depends on the school, and colleges do take different scales into account. At my school, the highest anybody's gotten that I know of is about 4.2 - an A in an AP class is worth a 5.0, but honors classes don't get anything special. We also have a bunch of required classes, so it impossible to take all AP classes.
Anyway, colleges often look at unweighted grades, and sometimes re-weight them with their own scales, so let's just stick with the easy answer of 4.0. = )

Depends who's doing the grading. It should be a 4.0, however since our educational system is made up of idiots and underachievers, they give extra credit, so you could have a 5.0, 6.0, etc.
If anyone at your school gets an award for attendance, then expect the highest grade around a 5.0.

Normally, this would be 4.0, but it depends on where you are. In Florida, there are what are called "honors classes" that can bump your total above 4.0. For each honors class that you complete, you get a fraction of a grade point added to your average. Yes, *added* directly to your average. Your grade point average, then, is only limited by how many honors classes you would take.
For the record, I had a 5.06 GPA, and was second in the class.

Unweighted, it should be a 4.0.
Some schools or areas will tweak it by allowing different weights for certain kinds of classes (like AP classes) or allowing A+ grades to be given that are worth, say, 4.3. Normally, 4.0 is the highest.

sure, its genuinely conceivable, convey those 2 Ds as a lot as an A can make a wide distinction on your GPA. once you've a three.3 on the instantaneous, you're really close to to a three.5, artwork flat out and persevere! solid success.

Here it's generally a 4.0, but you can get extra points and I've heard of people having like 4.8's and 5.0's.

It depends. If you're in all average-level classes, you can get a GPA of no higher than 4.0.
However, if you're in AP, depending on how many classes you take, you can get anywhere from a 4.6-5.8.
