If he really said that, you should report him to somebody and you should not worry about if it will ruin his life. Nobody forced him to say that.

As for funny, I would disagree. But, you should start with your parents, and definatley let the Principal know. The Principal will then take the right steps with the local authorities to be sure it is handled correctly.

A couple years back( with the school shooting incidents) kids were getting suspended for saying I'm going to kill you, or blow you away, etc. I see nothing different here. Tell your teacher. They wont touch him because of cultural blah blah blah.

You should report the kid to your teacher and the principal. After Columbine (and many, many other school rampages) they take these things VERY seriously.

Use your best judgment, if you really think this kid is going to do it then you should report him. But if it was just something he said (like when my mom told me she was going to strangle me if i didn't quit bugging her) then I would just ignore it and move on.

tell your teacher, principal, mother & father, police, fbi, cia, homeland security and anyone else who will listen. i would imagine that to be a terrorist threat. press charges and dont let it go. REPORT IT!

you have an obligation to report him to the principal no matter the religion.... I bet your school rules will tell you that....that's what happened in Columbine...no one took the shooters seriously and several ended up dead.....PLEASE tell the principal...

I would report him. There is no reason for anyone to make threats to anyone, especially in this day and age.
