Does anyone actually think allowing these new personal tasers is actually a good idea? How long before they become a tool for mugging, rape and home invasions?

Imagine this. You are walking down the street minding your own business. Some guy is walking down the street the opposite way. You get within five feet, he pulls his hand out of his pocket and tazers you. While you tremble on the ground he stuffs a rag in you mouth handcuffs you and shoves you into a car. Two hours later you are dumped on the side of the road raped, robbed, and bloody. Maybe even dead. You couldn't do a thing to stop it.

You hear a doorbell. You open the door to see who is there. The next thing you know you're on the floor helpless because you've been tasered. Your family is now at risk because your daughter or wife could be raped. The crook robs you and all you can do is lay there drooling with your hands tied. To add insult to injury he steals your .357 magnum that you couldn't get to in order to defend yourself..

If they are willing to use a tazer for rape, mugging, invasion, etc, then they are probably pretty desperate criminals. And I would rather a desperate criminal use a tazer rather then a gun. I don't think this will be a problem since anyone can also get a tazer for protection. the nice thing about a tazer is you can shoot first and ask questions later without worry of killing an innocent person by mistake.

Anything that the citizen can have access to in order to defend his person, family, and property should be encouraged. Criminals are already fully armed (as anyone who reads the news can easily see), therefore permitting citizens to arm themselves is a must. Now the choice of the citizen to be armed is up to them, whether a person who walks home late at night chooses to be prepared for the worst is not the issue, it's simply the access to self-protection tools that is the issue. People who think that law enforcement can be there to protect law-abiding citizens at all times are deluding themselves, just as with guns, knives, chemical spray, etc., these tools that are available to criminals should be make available to the rest of the people.

Your confused on the intent of a tool. It is simply a tool, its the will behind it that makes it criminal. There are many legal devices that could be used for harm, but If you are concern for your safety, I would reccomend pepper spray that can be bought at any sporting store such as Academy. Pepper spray is a prefered defense because it is small, easy to conceal and gives you a chance to escape with little legal responsibility.

Besides tasers are a firearm and it is concealed carry if they are caught with them.

I agree with you one hundred percent, and think this is some thing that should be used to control unruly criminals, my family was in law enforcement, and they had to tazor them selves in the training on how to use them, they said it will knock you down and out, imagine these in the wrong hands

Many people (even young people) have certain heart conditions which would cause a tazer to kill them. It's not safe for private citizens.

Yes
Guns are already a tool of criminals do you really think that another one is going to make any difference?
